British Railways (Southern Region)
8” dial roundhead fusee clock No. 11126 ex-Southampton Central {Permanent Way Office} in mahogany case; c.1951. Dial written “B.R.(S) 11126”. Case stamped “11126”.
British Railways (Southern Region)
8” dial roundhead fusee clock No. 11600 ex-Crediton {Permanent Way Inspector} in oak case; taken into service 14th November 1958. Dial written “B.R. 11600”.
London, Brighton & South Coast Railway/S.R.
12” dial roundhead fusee clock No. 398B ex-London Bridge {Audit Accountant & Ticket Printing Office} then Kew Bridge {Goods Office} in ebonised case. Taken into LB&SCR service in October 1866 and supplied by Richard Webster of Cornhill. The dial is very special having survived unchanged since S.R. days through B.R. service and is written “S.R. John Walker 1 South Molton Street London 398B”. The inner case retains a printed label headed in gothic script “London Brighton & South Coast Railway” below which is handwritten “Printing Office London Bridge 398” The bezel hinge is stamped 398 and the case carries the Walker backstamp 398B.SOLD
London & North Western Railway/L.M. & S.R.
12” convex dial roundhead fusee clock No. 1333 (L.& N.W.R. enamel number plate affixed to case) reputedly ending its’ service on the Stafford to Wolverhampton line in mahogany case. Dial written “L.M.S.” Convex dial clocks were outdated when railways were first built in this country. It follows that this clock is not only exceedingly rare – only the second convex dial clock I have seen or heard of. The movement also features the stamp of Messrs. Hurt & Wray of Birmingham – suppliers to the L&NWR. A feature I have never noted before. SOLD

6” dial brass-cased 8-day lever movement ships clock No. 11198 ex-127 Victoria Street, Westminster {Public Office} with subsidiary seconds dial. Dial written “B.R.”, Back cover inscribed “B.R.(E) 11198”. SOLD.

8” dial roundhead fusee clock No. 3981 ex-Bentley {Signal Box} then Bentley {Booking Office} in mahogany case; c.1870. Dial written “B.R. 3981” with arabic numerals and 24-hour number indicators. Case stamped “3981 SW” . SOLD

10” dial drop-case fusee clock No. 2942 ex-Egton {Staff Office} in oak case; c.1870. Dial written B.R. 2942 with arabic numerals & red 24-hour number indicators.

12” dial drop-case fusee clock No. 5824 ex-Seamer {West Junction Box} then Scarborough {Parcels Office} in mahogany case; c.1890. Case marked inside with NER number – 1260. Dial written B.R. 5824 with arabic numerals & red 24-hour number indicators. Movement backplate stamped three times “Ex-Y.R.K.” indicating overhauled at York Clock Repair Shops and sold from railway service from Collector’s Corner Euston on 16th November 1985.

(G.W.R. & L.M.& S.R. Joint) 10” dial “hook & spike” fusee clock No. 4995 (B.R. – W ivorine number plate affixed to case) ex-Churchdown {Signal Box}. Dial written “GWR” within roundel.
Taff Vale Railway/G.W.R.
12” dial roundhead fusee clock No. 753 (replacement G.W.R. ivorine number plate affixed to case) reputedly ex-Cardiff in mahogany case; c.1870. Dial written “G.W.R.” over ghost inscription “Joseph Collings Bros. 7 Bute Street Cardiff” overwritten by the “G.W.R.”. SOLD
Great Eastern Railway/L. & N.E.R.
12” dial drop-case fusee clock No. 2018 (L & NER ivorine number plate affixed to dial) ex-Fulbourne {Booking Office} in mahogany case; c.1850. Dial written “L. N. E. R.” with “2018” engraved on L&NER plate. “GER” painted on back of dial. The clock has retained its’ L&NER Clock Record Card. SOLD.
